The Weekly Stuff

I apologize for the not so creative title to this email, Elder Thompson has run out of ideas, but that will have to do for now! Here's the run down of the highlights and some fun things that happened last week in my missionary life:

For the 4th of July last week it was our P-day and after I got done emailing we went to a nice western food place here and we got some nice juicy steaks. It's nothing like Dad's BBQ back home, but for a 4th of July celebration it was way good! Good times with the missionaries I love here in Singapore!

Later in the week we got to go bowling with our Elders Quorum! The Elder's Quorum here is way fun and super chill, especially the Filipinos, haha! We had a fun time with them and then we pitched in on a service project afterwards, because service is what we do best. We were painting again which is always a good time. Then you add in some Filipino members to help out you get more of a party then anything, but I'm not complaining!

With the new house we have (by that I mean the Elders that stay in our house), missionary work becomes way too much fun! Elder Miller my companion, Elder Cook, and Elder Bloem, my MTC companion, all of us have so much fun together. I have said this before but I have never laughed so hard in my life than I have out here on a mission. That is something I never thought would happen. Missions are so much fun all around!

One day this week we were fasting and we got through the day pretty well until we came to church toward the end of the night to teach a lesson. We were looking for members to help us and we heard the Young Women were doing an activity in the kitchen so we headed there. Big mistake. They are pulling out HUGE brownie mix muffins and they looked so good. They are pouring the batter right in front of our faces and we couldn't handle it we were so hungry haha. We quickly had to leave that situation but the rest of the night went just fine. Don't trust the Young Women everyone, they make sinful muffins.

We had dinner and got to hang out with a Filipino family in our ward, the Gutierez family. They are so much fun. Their kids are the most adorable things in the world and they just love to have fun as a family. Yes, I did sing Disney songs in the car with a Filipino family and their 3 kids under the ages of 8.....what? With all this growing you do on a mission you'd expect me to get over it, right? Nope. I still know Lion King by heart. Yeah.
By the way my companion Elder Miller is the best. I absolutely love him and we have such a good time doing the work. We got nations to baptize, and all in shirts and ties!

Love you all!

Elder Thompson
